LA PUEBLA - HOW IT WAS MADE
This was the first decent lightning picture I took and this ecouraged me to continue photographing lightning. I was at my cousins house in La Puebla, New Mexico, when a small line of storms moved in at sunset. The light was very bright and I stopped down to f/22 and lacking a neutral density I slapped a polarizing filter on the lens to further slow my exposure times. This shot was about a forty second exposure with Fuji Velvia 50 ASA film. When you use small apertures and neutral density filters only the brightest and closest lightning will expose, and luckily I got this one shot above.
